Here is a description of the role we are opening:
Your Responsibilities:
Define and implement the global sourcing strategy and supplier panel for Direct Materials, in line with global guidelines
Ensure execution of commodity strategies within plants and guide plant buyers toward convergence with approved suppliers
Identify and qualify new suppliers to support emerging technologies, in collaboration with Project Purchasing, R&D, and Business Units
Drive supplier selection and compliance through assessments including quality audits, ISO certifications, financial health checks, CSR performance, and supply chain evaluations
Lead Supplier Relationship Management by fostering strategic partnerships, monitoring performance, and ensuring contractual compliance
Actively contribute to the budgeting process by proposing and challenging cost-reduction actions such as negotiations and VA/VE initiatives
Consolidate market intelligence and cost drivers to support strategic purchasing decisions and guide the global purchasing community
Deliver contractual frameworks and performance reports for key commodities across global operations
Take accountability for performance KPIs including contract coverage and purchase price index (PPI)
Lead or support problem-solving initiatives (e.g., PDCA, 8D), negotiations, and improvement projects
Ensure a continuous market survey to anticipate trends, risks, and opportunities
Qualification
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or Purchasing-related fields
6-10 years of experience in a global industrial environment, ideally in mass production (mechanical, chemicals, plastics).
Proven experience as a Commodity Manager or Plant Buyer managing global supplier networks
Strong knowledge of industrial processes (Lean, Kaizen), and high-level purchasing competencies (negotiations, SRM, contract management)
A proactive, analytical, and resilient professional with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Fluent in Thai and English
