Intro Summary of the Role
The Global Commercial Data Analyst at Lonza is responsible for maintaining, validating, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of Bioscience commercial data used across multiple platforms. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, Commercial Operations, and Master Data to optimize data management practices and support effective operational decision-making.
The individual will serve as a key resource and point person for data stewardship and governance around LBS Accounts and Contacts. Additionally, the role is responsible for Lead Assignment rules and the overall health of our data as it relates to Lead & Opportunity Management in salesforce.com.

What You Will Do
Data Stewardship and Governance:
Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across key platforms, including Salesforce (SFDC), SAP ERP, and associated commercial tools.
Execute data quality audits, validation, and data cleansing projects to ensure accurate and reliable data sets.
Implement and maintain data governance policies and guidelines.
Establish and implement standards, policies, and best practices for data management.
Monitor data quality and proactively identify issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Serve as subject-matter expert on data standards, classification, and enrichment processes.
Partner with IT and Master Data teams to troubleshoot and resolve data/system-related issues promptly.
Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all commercial data assets.
Monitor data quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial data-related inquiries and issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data standards and guidelines.
Conduct regular data audits and clean-up activities to maintain high data quality.
Work with IT Master Data team to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility for commercial teams, enabling data-driven decision-making.
Lead Management:
Manage Salesforce.com Lead Assignment rules.
Develop and document standardized procedures for Lead Assignment rules.
Provide support and insights to Sales, Marketing, Service, and Commercial teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Develop processes to decrease manual entry of lead assignment rules, including automation options, with IT platform owners.
Sales Matrix:
Manage and resolve data-related support requests promptly and effectively.
Collaborate cross-functionally on data integration projects and business process harmonization initiatives.
Commercial Operations:
Tools and Process Improvement:
Support the optimization of commercial tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, etc.).
Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies related to data entry, usage, and reporting.
Develop and document standardized procedures, workflows, and best practices for data management.
Provide training and support to internal teams on data governance policies, commercial systems, and data-driven processes.
Analytics and Reporting:
Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics to support commercial teams' performance measurement and strategic planning.
Analyze and communicate insights from data trends to improve commercial operations effectiveness.
Collaborate with enablement business analyst and commercial teams to develop or refine meaningful reports and dashboards.
What We Are Looking For
Data Accuracy and Integrity
Consistently maintain high-quality, accurate, and reliable data across commercial systems and platforms.
Experience with Salesforce (SFDC)
Intermediate hands-on Salesforce CRM expertise to effectively manage commercial data and workflows.
Proficiency with ERP Systems (SAP)
Familiarity and practical experience in SAP ERP to seamlessly support business operations and integration with Salesforce and other tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with various internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, Finance) to optimize data management processes.
Data Governance Implementation
Ability to establish, implement, and consistently enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and best practices.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Strong analytical abilities, capable of evaluating complex data, identifying trends, diagnosing issues, and recommending effective solutions.
Process Improvement and Documentation
Skilled in identifying operational improvement opportunities, designing efficient workflows, and clearly documenting standardized procedures.
Effective Communication Skills
Excellent communication, including translating data insights and technical information into clear, concise recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
Commercial Operations and Reporting
Capacity to produce accurate, timely, and insightful reports, dashboards, and analyses that inform commercial strategy and decision-making.
Proactive and Organized Work Approach
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, operate independently, manage workload effectively, and proactively address operational and data quality issues within a fast-paced environment.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Marketo, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, MindTickle, or related platforms
