THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Global Accounting Specialist for our Finance team in Berlin or Munich, Germany or Madrid, Spain or Lisbon, Portugal!

As part of our Controllership team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting across our international entities. 
Working in a multicultural environment, you will ensure compliance with local standards (such as German GAAP/HGB) and international regulations, supporting the global financial closing process and Wellhub’s operational efficiency.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions for multiple international entities, including journal entries in general ledger, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across global entities.
  • Coordinate and reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure proper eliminations during consolidation.
  • Assist with the consolidation of financial results in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) 
  • Work with external auditors and internal stakeholders during audits and reviews of international operations.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting and tax regulations in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with local finance teams and service providers to support payroll, VAT/GST, and other local reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Participate in global ERP system implementations or upgrades as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in Accounting, Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial closing processes, and global business models.Advanced proficiency in Excel, including hard-coding.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Datev and Lucanet can be a plus.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools like Power Pivot Table (BI) and basic knowledge of SQL can be a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across geographies.
  • Proven experience in a global accounting role, with a focus on general ledger.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform reconciliations and financial analysis.3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Experience with german GAAP and other european local GAAP - US GAAP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems (e.g.Datev) and consolidation system Lucanet.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
