Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator to join our Sector Management Office to support a significant infrastructure project.

In this role, you will support the Sector Office to help expedite and manage real estate land acquisition efforts.

These efforts include but are not limited to: the liaising with the National Program Management Office and other Sector Offices, the coordination with subcontractors, government agencies, and internal teams, maintenance and organization of critical GIS and document management systems, and the tracking of key real estate land-related GIS data and document deliverables such as land parcel shapefiles, GIS layers, title reports, appraisal reports, surveys, real estate agreements, negotiation logs, and related documents.

Note: US Citizenship is required for this position.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, Sector and National Program Offices, and internal team to procure and track key real estate land- and acquisition-related GIS data and deliverables;
  • Help manage, organize, upload and maintain this data within our GIS and document management systems so that the National Program Office, clients, and subcontractors can access real-time data, documentation, and insights.  
  • Help coordinate with government agencies, including DHS and USACE, to gather real estate acquisition data for our GIS team and to help leadership resolve land acquisition challenges;
  • Coordinate with Parsons’ GIS, Scheduling, Acquisitions, and Administrative teams to provide real-time insights, data, and document deliverables;
  • May supervise lower-level administrative support personnel, assigning work, reviewing completed assignments, and offering training and guidance.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain appropriate DHS suitability determination
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of related experience in either GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, Real Estate, Land Acquisitions, Title Services, Surveying Services, Appraisal Services, Real Estate Law, or Real Estate Brokerage.
  • Knowledge of Eminent Domain and other real estate transaction processes is preferred
  • Familiarity with federal government processes and regulations, particularly DHS and USACE is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Additionally, a demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and the utilization of MS Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, is required. A demonstrated ability to administer a variety of activities simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines is preferred.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with government agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of real estate concepts relating to the acquisition of land, such as easements, appraisals, surveys, and title documents, is not required but helpful.
  • Working knowledge, awareness, and understanding of GIS software/database packages including workflows, tool deployment process and requirements, troubleshooting, basic capacity and capability assessments, and a variety of principles and techniques
  • Working knowledge in automating tasks, customizing functionalities, and performing complex spatial analyses in GIS using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
