Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented GIS Analyst (Saudi National) to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing:
Updates geospatial databases to confirm data accuracy and integrity.
Reviews spatial data to identify patterns and trends in geographic data in collaboration with project teams to provide spatial data and analysis for decision making.
Implements the preparation, review, and execution of GIS implementation plans at the program/project level.
Supports the implementation of security measures and management of server sites.
Assists in the installation and configuration of enterprise portals to meet project requirements.
Develops custom GIS applications to support team in determining solutions to identified spatial problems and provides technical guidance on GIS software and applications.
Creates and maintains digital maps for various projects using GIS capabilities.
May provide technical guidance to junior staff on GIS software and applications.
Implements database design elements for efficient querying and analysis.
Assists in defining data types, relationships, constraints, and indexes for optimal performance.
Assists team in responding to client queries and requests.
Assists in various GIS tasks under supervision.
Provides input to clients/departments/others working on same project.
May interface with other departments on matters relating to work assignments.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
3-7 years related work experience
Working knowledge of GIS, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Management (BIM), and engineering software including familiarity of hardware and software used
Working knowledge, awareness, and understanding of GIS software/database packages including workflows, tool deployment process and requirements, troubleshooting, basic capacity and capability assessments, and a variety of principles and techniques
Working knowledge in automating tasks, customizing functionalities, and performing complex spatial analyses in GIS using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
Demonstrates advanced ability in using spatial extract, transform, load tools including Safe Software Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) workbenches for data transformation
Advanced knowledge in utilizing model builders and customized tools for geospatial tasks
Understands practices and procedures to solve geographical problems and achieve reliable geospatial data
Understands Quality Assurance/Quality Control standard practices and procedures, geoprocessing techniques, data management standards, data analysis, development of data model structures, and data format transformation
Advanced proficiency in producing scaled maps with cartographic designs
Ability to implement topology rules to enforce data integrity and accuracy
Effective computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) on modeling, survey, GIS technical and non-technical subjects
