A Day in the Life

As an GIS Analyst, you will primarily support project work for a very large oil/gas client located in Colorado. This position will be office-based work, with potential for hybrid work environment. It is fast-paced, technical in nature, and involves regulatory understanding and compliance.

The compensation range for this role is $60,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Create spatial data from multiple non-spatial sources and formats using digitization and georeferencing techniques demonstrating firm understanding of geographic coordinate systems, datums, and projections. 

  • Integrate new data into existing geodatabases, convert/crosswalk attributes between multiple domain schemas. 

  • Utilize GIS applications to examine the locations, attributes, and relationships of features in spatial data through overlay and other analytical techniques. 

  • Configure and troubleshoot various GPS devices and mobile data collection applications. 

  • Utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation. Use applications and scripts to create automated geoprocessing workflows. 

  • Work with GIS related software and programs to create and maintain a database and/or maps that can be combined to create geographically correlated data. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Your Expertise and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field with GIS coursework

  • 2+ years of experience with ArcGIS Pro and ESRI GIS tools

  • Working knowledge of GIS principles, data collection, and spatial analysis

  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, Collector, Survey123, and Python scripting

  • Environmental consulting experience preferred

  • GIS certification and familiarity with groundwater software (e.g., Surfer) a plus

  • Knowledge of Python, JSON, JavaScript, HTML preferred

  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
