A DAY IN THE LIFE

A day in the life as a GIS Analyst II involves working with a variety of geospatial and technical data to support projects across the organization. You’ll spend time managing and maintaining GIS databases, converting CAD and tabular data into usable formats, and creating maps and visualizations that help teams make informed decisions. Throughout the day, you may analyze spatial data, generate reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and usability. You’ll also support workflow automation and occasionally assist in training team members on GIS tools and processes. This role blends technical problem-solving with data management and visualization, requiring attention to detail, organization, and a strong understanding of geospatial systems.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

  • Assists with the ArcGIS Enterprise platform including geodatabase management, loading data, and creating maps using desktop GIS.
  • With guidance, data conversions to GIS geodatabases from field and engineering data sources such as spreadsheets, drawings, KMZ, and shapefiles.
  • With guidance, performs GIS data entry and data editing – both manual and modeled.
  • Communicates and tracks data task progress for project deliverables.
  • Escalate data issues or discrepancies to senior GIS team members.
  • Supports the GIS team on planning, strategy, and scheduling GIS enterprise initiatives and aligning with industry best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographical Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, environmental science or related field, or equivalent combinations of related education and experience required.
  • 5 or more years of Geographic Information Systems experience required.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

  • Hands on experience with field mobilization or construction environments preferred.
  • Experience with spatial and tabular data conversion processes and techniques preferred.

$68,684.00 - $99,593.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
