S&P GLOBAL

GI New Business Sales Specialist - Germany (Corporates)

London, UK Full time

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

10

The Team:

Our economic and industry forecasts, risk and compliance capabilities, and trade and supply chain intelligence are used by senior executives within multinational corporations, financial organizations, governments, and NGOs to support critical strategic decisions. We provide customers with a 360-degree view of the external factors that matter most to their business—backed by best-in-class researchers, consultants, subject matter experts, solutions engineers, and data/analytics teams.

The Impact:

The Global Insight (GI) portfolio helps customers take a horizontal view across geographies, sectors, and operating environments. With solutions spanning Global Risk & Maritime, Economic Indicators & Forecasts, Global Trade & Supply Chain, and Shipping Intelligence, you will help German corporate decision-makers connect external risk and opportunity signals to actions—supporting strategy, risk management, procurement, and supply chain decisions.
This is a new business role where success is measured by pipeline generation, disciplined qualification, and closing new logos—while representing GI credibly to senior stakeholders.

What’s in it for You:

  • A high-ownership new business role selling a differentiated portfolio of data and consulting solutions into Germany’s largest corporates.

  • The opportunity to sell both subscriptions and consulting deliverables, building a broad commercial skill set across recurring and project-based revenue.

  • Strong internal support: access to GI experts across geographies and domains to strengthen discovery, build credibility, and progress complex sales cycles.

  • A collaborative sales culture with strong peer learning and partnership across solutions engineering, product, marketing, and consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed monthly new business goals by generating qualified leads through outbound prospecting (cold calling/email) and coordinated campaign outreach.

  • Run structured discovery and employ a solution-based sales methodology to align GI solutions to prospect priorities and success metrics.

  • Build and progress a healthy pipeline; maintain accurate CRM hygiene and provide timely, accurate forecasting (committed and best-case).

  • Confidently represent and promote the business line to senior executives internally and externally, tailoring messaging to different stakeholder groups (business, procurement, compliance).

  • Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across the GI portfolio and articulate the value proposition across multiple end markets and use cases.

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders (solutions engineers, subject matter experts, consulting, marketing, account management) to progress opportunities and improve win rates.

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2-4 years of experience in new business (hunter) B2B sales within SaaS, data, analytics, research, or information services—selling to corporate customers and consistently delivering against quota.

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 7+ years of experience managing full-cycle sales (prospecting to close), including value-based discovery, stakeholder mapping, qualification, negotiation, and forecasting discipline.

  • Experience selling information services (software, insights, data, and/or consulting) with the ability to position value and ROI to business buyers and procurement/sourcing stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt style and content for different audiences, including senior executives and procurement functions.

  • Proven ability to build effective internal partnerships and external client relationships in order to progress opportunities and close business.

  • Native-level German and professional English fluency.

  • Willingness to travel when required for face-to-face meetings and industry conferences.

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of business development activity for complex consulting solutions (scoping, positioning outcomes, and partnering with SMEs to build credibility).

  • Familiarity with multinational corporate operating models and complex global supply chains, including risk, compliance, and third-party/supplier due diligence workflows.

  • Experience selling multi-solution portfolios and tailoring messaging by vertical and persona (e.g., Risk, Procurement, Supply Chain, Strategy, Compliance).
