Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team.  As a key member of the team and reporting directly to the Geotechnical Superintendent, this multifaceted role will see you responsible for:

• Assist with the collection of geotechnical data (structural mapping, groundwater, exploration core samples and geophysics).
• Interpretation and management of geotechnical data.
• Proactive hazard identification through routine pit inspections.
• Perform geotechnical analysis for identified hazards and provide timely advice to mine planners, OCEs and mining supervisors.
• Work closely with Technical Services, OCEs and Mining Supervisors to ensure that geotechnical hazards are effectively communicated, and geotechnical design requirements are being met.
• Management of geotechnical monitoring systems.
• Effective communication of geotechnical monitoring data.
• Assist with the update and maintenance of key strata management documentation.

To be successful in this role, you are a savvy, results driven and resilient character, have a tertiary qualification/specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering. Have advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, Vulcan, Maptek I-Site, geotechnical analysis software and geotechnical monitoring systems. You will be a highly organised, results focused professional who is responsive, intuitive, innovative, self-motivated and driven to achieve great outcomes.
