Job Description:
Location: Remote, United States
Company Overview
The law requires you to call 811 to have public utilities marked before you dig. However, public utilities will only locate the facilities they own – electric, gas, oil, sewer, telephone, and water. The vast majority of underground utilities are privately owned, which is why you need to make Blood Hound your second call.
Blood Hound locates ALL underground utilities and structures and offer a range of highly specialized subsurface utility services to significantly reduce your risk of costly damages and project delays and mitigate safety hazards for your crews and community.
Blood Hound’s Geospatial Division is leading the evolution of utility mapping and subsurface data collection. Our work combines Multi-Channel GPR, UAS LiDAR, mobile scanning, and advanced GIS tools to deliver high-resolution 2D and 3D mapping data for engineering and construction clients nationwide.
Summary
Blood Hound is expanding its Geospatial Division and is seeking a Geospatial Systems Supervisor. As Geospatial Systems Supervisor, you’ll be a key contributor to how this technology connects across teams—helping shape workflows, train personnel, and bring new mapping innovations to life.
This position is ideal for a technically driven leader who thrives in both field and office environments—comfortable supervising production workflows, improving GIS systems, and supporting field teams with new technology. The Geospatial Systems Supervisor will play a key role in optimizing how data flows from collection through deliverable, bridging CAD, GIS, and field operations for large-scale projects.
Responsibilities

- Supervise, support, select, and manage geospatial staff, including CAD drafters, GIS technicians, and field teams
- Monitor workloads and schedule, prioritize, and coordinate projects
- Enforce quality control standards for sketches, CAD drawings, GIS deliverables, and client-ready exports
- Lead efforts to streamline internal GIS and CAD data workflows, integrating client-provided drawings, survey data, and field results into enterprise GIS systems
- Collaborate with leadership to design and maintain data pipelines that improve how internal teams visualize and interact with project data
- Support implementation of new mapping technologies and software tools that enhance data accuracy and turnaround
- Work with IT and geospatial leadership to establish data governance, templates, and documentation for consistency across large projects
- Participate in occasional field deployments to train on new equipment (LiDAR, GPR, GNSS, UAS, etc.) and validate data workflows
- Provide hands-on support to field crews during pilot projects or technology evaluations
- Key role in optimizing how data flows from collection through deliverable, bridging CAD, GIS, and field operations for large-scale projects
- Offer feedback from field operations to improve digital data capture and delivery methods
- Leads in developing internal training materials, SOPs, and process documentation
- Mentor junior staff on geospatial workflows, data integrity, and software best practices
- Support leadership in developing and tracking operational metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial mapping, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), or related technical field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and QGIS (experience with Revit, ArcGIS, or LiDAR processing preferred)
- Working knowledge of coordinate systems, RTK/GNSS workflows, and data conversion between CAD and GIS environments
- Experience with internal GIS system development or enterprise mapping workflows strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure consistent output across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel up to 35% for technology implementation and field training
