About the Role:

Barron's is seeking an experienced, ambitious reporter to cover the intersection of geopolitics and markets in a new weekly newsletter that provides subscribers with actionable ideas to drive their investment decisions. With insights and data from the geopolitical group at Dow Jones, this reporter will combine a knowledge of markets, industries, and companies with analysis on the risks and opportunities of investing and doing business abroad.

You Will:

  • Work with editors and other reporters to create a new geopolitics newsletter that will build on exclusive insights from Oxford Analytica, a company owned by Barron's parent Dow Jones.
  • Outside of the newsletter, write analysis of major news related to this specific beat and original enterprise pieces for Barron's main news site and its magazine.
  • Deliver clear, insightful analysis on a weekly basis.

You Have:

  • Reporting and writing skills; news instincts; ability to step back from daily news and write analysis of the big picture; close familiarity with global markets; working understanding of investing and what investors are interested in; knowledge of what works for newsletters
  • At least 5 years of reporting and writing in a major newsroom on business topics

  • Barron's strongly values teamwork, so the ability to collaborate with reporters, editors, and our visual journalists is a must.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $155,000
