As a Gen AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying internal-use applications that leverage large language models in the health technology domain. You will work closely with the editors of MCG’s evidence-based care guidelines, data scientists, and clinical informaticists to develop AI-powered tools that accelerate content production by automating search, filter, retrieval, and critical evaluation of medical literature, as well as improve efficiency with copy editing tasks. This role offers a distinctive opportunity to engage in full-stack development, enabling creative experimentation and the realization of diverse approaches to streamline our content update cycle. 

 

You will: 

  • Drive automation and workflow improvements through innovative LLM solutions and strategies that balance speed, function, and long-term robustness 
  • Work closely with and assist clinical editors and copy editors in more efficient and accurate content creation 
  • Rapid prototyping of generative AI applications 
  • Full-stack development from proof-of-concept to front-end UI 
  • Evaluate, measure, and improve performance on a continuous basis 
  • Develop ETL/data pre-processing workflows to structure and manage clinical content for LLM pipelines 
  • Collaborate with clinical editors to prioritize new use cases for development and obtain feedback on existing solutions 
  • Work with data scientists to rigorously evaluate various strategies for optimizing prompts 
  • Stay up to date on industry developments 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

  •   3+ years of full-time software engineering experience 
  • Python advanced proficiency 
  • Experience with modern front-end web technologies, such as React.js 
  • Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud computing 
  • Experience with MLOps tools and practices (e.g. CI/CD pipelines, containerized services, etc) 
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability 
  • Collaborative mindset 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
  • Experience building generative AI solutions with OpenAI 
  • Proficiency in leveraging RAG, chunking, and embedding techniques in AI solutions 
  • Health technology domain experience 
  • Experience working with clinicians 

 

 

Pay Range: 131,000 – 184,000 

Other compensation: Bonus Eligible
