Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1975000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • As a GS-2001-09, GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, you will perform duties such as schedule and conduct formal organizational visits annually to each supported organizational account both on and off the installation to ensure custodians are adequately performing their accountability responsibilities. Verify accountability of all capital equipment, nuclear related equipment, Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment, and performs a 10% random sample of remaining accountable assets. Ensure the unit has a process in place to account for pilferable items purchased with the Government Purchase Card (GPC). Provide the responsible officer and the responsible officer's group and wing commanders with a written report that identifies strengths, findings and observations. Maintain a suspense system to ensure replies and corrective action are accomplished within 30 days. Review replies to ensure noted discrepancies are corrected. Notifies the LRS Commander and responsible officer's group and wing commanders, in writing, of actions taken. Measure schedule effectiveness to ensure organizational visits are conducted annually and brief schedule effectiveness to Materiel Management Flight Chief and LRS/CC. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK

Qualifications: Military Grades: E-2 to E-5 Compatible Military Assignments: 2S0X1 * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, demonstrating the ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements, knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.
