General Service technician II

Performs variety of activities throughout the hospital to maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment, which enhances the quality of patient care.

Performs all general maintenance duties.

Responds to calls from the Control Center

Makes rounds as assigned and inspects equipment and records. Enters data into appropriate database.

Plans and performs preventative maintenance schedules as assigned.

Troubleshoots all designated equipment and reports any problems.

Prepares stock orders for purchasing.

Paints all painted and unpainted surfaces as assigned in all areas of hospital.

Plans and performs the construction, installation, renovation, maintenance and repair of the carpentry related functions throughout the hospital.

Replaces and repairs steam system parts and fixtures.

Inspects maintenance equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.

Works, as assigned, with licensed General Services Technicians in order to maintain a safe and efficient patient-orientated environment.

Performs the functions of a General Maintenance Helper.

Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner.

Ensures work areas are clean and free of debris upon completion of all tasks.

Utilizes hospital’s Core Values as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the division’s hospital mission.

Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures.

Adheres to all of BMC’s RESPECT behavioral standards

Requires High School Diploma

Requires 2-3 years of applicable trades training.

Requires Experience in general maintenance required for all duties.

Compensation Range:

$36.21- $57.38

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
