Position Summary:

The Schmidt College of Medicine seeks a dynamic and collaborative clinical faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to serve as an attending physician, within FAU Medicine- Psychiatry Residency.

The General Psychiatry, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will have the following specific responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidenced-based, best-practice driven psychiatric care.

  • Supervise residents in the development of treatment plans and care pathways to provide personalized care addressing patient needs based on professional practice guidelines and scientific evidence.

  • Provider will maintain close communication with the clinic/hospital healthcare team and provide relevant instruction to care team members as appropriate.

  • Organize multi-disciplinary conferences with appropriate care team.

  • Collaborate with community organizations to support holistic patient care.

  • Discuss findings as needed with collaborating physicians, consulting staff, and medical service providers.

  • Assess patient care needs and monitor patient satisfaction.

  • Perform resident and medical student evaluations as appropriate.

  • Provide a practice environment that encourages a team culture and response to the provision of patient care services.

  • Follow College of Medicine organizational protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent laws and regulations including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required
•  M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the appropriate rank.
•  Florida medical license or eligibility for licensure, and active or eligible certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
•  The ability to effectively communicate with students, residents, fellows and employees from various backgrounds is required.

 

Preferred
•  Experience with ACGME accreditation, curriculum design, and competency based evaluation.
•  Record of scholarly activity and participation in academic psychiatry organizations.

Transcripts must be issued to Florida Atlantic University, not to the individual applicant.
