Summary of This Role
Manages the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives and assists in the establishment of organization objectives, in the development of organization short, medium, and long-range and strategic plans, the identification of organization strengths and weaknesses, and business opportunities. Evaluates and manages new business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees analysis covering the economics, legal, regulatory, market and competitive environment as well as internal organizational, financial, technical analysis. Monitors competitive activity and identifies client needs.
What Part Will You Play?
- Supports the segment(s) with designing a roadmap for the businesses to deliver long-term industry-leading shareholder returns and profitable growth. Leads the work to develop/define the segment's overall vision and goals (“definition of winning”) and corporate strategy (“where to play” and “how to win”) working with the segment presidents and other executives.
- Leads the annual strategic planning process by ensuring that the segment(s) has achievable strategic plans (e.g., “Plan to Win” roadmap and 5-year financial forecast) in place to create maximum value for the enterprise. Ensures that long-term strategic plans are translated into near-term initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Leads and supports working sessions with the executive team to drive alignment on corporate/operating segment goals, strategic priorities, and strategic plans. Prepares and/or delivers strategy presentations to the Board of Directors, senior executives and segment leadership teams. Partners with Investor Relations, Marketing Communications, and Team Member Communications to ensure that the appropriate strategic messages are incorporated into presentations for various audiences.
- Champions and builds the strategic business case(s) for action, by identifying and analyzing growth opportunities, cultivating internal awareness, consensus, and organizational support for new and ongoing growth initiatives (“Corporate Strategic Growth Bets”), which may include potential acquisition, alliance, and partnership and/or new venture opportunities. Promotes cross-segment collaboration to drive value from synergies across the enterprise’s portfolio of businesses.
- Supports execution of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) components of the segment(s) strategic plans by working with the executive team to establish appropriate M&A strategic priorities and target evaluation criteria; by supporting the M&A team in developing the pipeline, evaluating targets, conducting due diligence, preparing/delivering executive/board presentations and transaction announcements, developing post-acquisition business plans; and by supporting acquisition integration activities.
- Supports activities to engage with new/emerging players in payments to drive meaningful growth in revenue and profits, and to gain market intelligence on disruptive opportunities and threats.
- Leads and supports various internal consulting engagements for the corporation and its operating segments, serving as a key advisor to other executives by providing expert assistance and thought leadership to help them grow and manage their businesses. Communicates complicated matters in a simple, structured way to senior management.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Typically a minimum of 10 years
- related professional experience including a minimum of 5-6 years experience in a managerial position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- related field of study from an accredited university.
- Prior TSYS, payment or technology industry experience is preferred.
