Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall operation and performance of an assigned business area. The role ensures the efficient, safe manufacturing of high‑quality products in compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes supporting and developing supervisors by providing the necessary information, materials, and training to achieve optimal results.

The position oversees daily operations, monitors key operational metrics, promotes continuous improvement, and addresses both routine and non‑routine operational issues. The role also ensures compliance with all USDA, federal, and state regulations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, production efficiency, and Team Member engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the total operation of the assigned area, including safety, production, quality, and labor performance
  • Ensure safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products consistent with company standards and policies
  • Provide supervisors with guidance, training, and resources to optimize team performance
  • Monitor and review records related to attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and TQM initiatives
  • Promote continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and idea development from Team Members
  • Oversee daily operations and analyze non‑routine issues, providing solutions and recommendations to the Plant Manager
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, federal, and state regulations
  • Manage staffing, line speeds, production yields, quality standards, Team Member relations, turnover, absenteeism, discipline, and payroll within the assigned area

Qualifications

  • Education: Education beyond high school, including specialized training, vocational school, college coursework, or equivalent experience
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience with production techniques, procedures, product yields, quality standards, and USDA/OSHA regulations
    • Processing or production management experience preferred
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel: As required

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position supervises a team of personnel performing related and similar tasks and is responsible for performance management, development, and overall team effectiveness.
