Who we are looking for

As General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for the New Kensington business. You will set long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies related to Re:Build New Kensington. You should have significant experience managing a P&L and operational experience in large-scale manufacturing. You will demonstrate strong business insight, a continuous improvement approach, and excellent coaching and motivational skills. You will understand managing advanced materials manufacturing, large-scale machining, and battery and electromechanical assembly. You can translate customer needs into effective production processes, increase throughput, improve quality, and enhance collaboration across teams. Experience leading in a matrixed environment, especially in Commercial leadership, is required.

What you get to do

  • Manage the P&L. Develop budgets, financial plans, capacity planning, and performance metrics, giving regular updates on progress and critical path items. Own ongoing business-wide performance benchmarks and indicators and use them to drive improvement in operating performance and financial margins.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team with a strong, positive operating culture, including Engineering, Operations, Technical Development, Quality, Finance, and Human Resources.
  • Lead multiple Value streams that are each independently capable of translating customer requirements from order all the way through the manufacturing process to highly efficient production.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, priorities, production systems, workflows, and performance metrics to ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC), and profitability objectives are met.
  • Apply Lean operating principles and tools to strengthen an operating culture of engagement, problem solving, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the execution of commercial strategies to drive growth, including partnership with business development resources to develop and manage lasting customer engagements.
  • Help shape business expansion strategy and planning. Support acquisition due diligence efforts.
  • Provide leadership and management of Re:Builders to ensure effective selection, development, retention, and performance management of team members.
  • Develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies to ensure teams are informed, aligned, and motivated to accomplish objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence aligned with the Principles of The Re:Build Way.

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering) preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership within advanced manufacturing, with significant time spent in high volume manufacturing and machining.
  • Prior P&L ownership, with strong financial competence and the capability to drive margin improvements through operational transformation.
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and scaling production organizations in both low-mix/high-volume and high-mix/low-volume settings.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, automation, quality systems, production workflows and supply chains.

- Track record as a transformational leader - successfully improving culture, systems, processes, and cross-functional alignment.

  • Experience with Lean operating principles, methods, and tools to promote ongoing improvement.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
