Job Description

Dr.Bill is an RBCx Portfolio company that is working to take the pain out of medical billing and get doctors paid accurately. We are a high-growth company that currently serves thousands of doctors across 5 provinces. You’ll join as an employee of RBC and get all the perks of working for a big company, but with a start-up mindset and the ability to move quickly.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a visionary and execution-driven General Manager (GM) to lead Dr.Bill through its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader with a deep understanding of the Canadian healthcare ecosystem, a track record of scaling early to growth-stage technology companies, and the ability to align business strategy with exceptional customer experience. This role requires an experience working with product-led strategies focused on customer engagement and acquisition.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Own and evolve Dr.Bill’s strategic roadmap in partnership with RBCx and the RBC Healthcare teams, aligning business goals with product innovation and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong, collaborative partnership with the RBC Healthcare team to ensure Dr.Bill continues to be a key channel for client acquisition.
  • Lead a dynamic cross-functional team across product, sales, strategic finance, and operations.
  • Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and monetization by developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Represent Dr.Bill to senior stakeholders at RBC, partners, and the public, as needed.
  • Ensure operational excellence and performance tracking across all functions.
  • Enable and empower your teams to drive the overall success of the business.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

  • Proven experience as a strategic leader, general manager, or executive in an early or growth-stage tech company.
  • Strong technical acumen, comfortable with leading in a product or data-led environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare market and customer dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling cross-functional teams and able to engage credibly with product, engineering, and design teams.
  • Track record of growing customer-centric platforms and driving engagement through product innovation and actionable data insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—comfortable reporting to board-level and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Passion for engaging with Canadian doctors to create more time for patients and less time on administrative tasks.

Must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in a Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or Economics.
  • 12+ years of experience in product, operations, or strategy, preferably in a technology company.
  • Proven track record of scaling product-led growth (PLG) organizations through experimentation and data-informed decisioning.
  • Experience defining customer segmentation, acquisition, and retention models.

Nice-to-have

  • An advanced degree, such as an MBA or an advanced degree.
  • Background in financial services or regulatory environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics, churn forecasting, and revenue modeling.
