The Communications function is responsible for leading external and internal communications for Nissan Motor Co. At NMIPL level, the communications team is responsible for driving positive reputation and brand excitement about Nissan and its products through the press and influencers; managing media relations; and supporting executive comms and employee engagement for the entity. The communications teams in the markets are positioned at the front line of stakeholder relations and work hand-in-hand with the global communications team.
The Head of Communications in India reports to Region VP Communications AMIEO and sits on the local management committee as a strategic advisor to the market. The position leads media & influencer relations at the market level, as well as local communications strategy and employee engagement.

Background & Experience: A degree in one of the following areas: public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, international business / project management
Experience: 17+ years minimum of professional experience in fields related to communications, public relations or journalism – preferably in automotive or a related industry
Skills: Strong communications and leadership skills; ability to present and exchange with executives; strategic thinking; ability to manage and prioritize multiple task to strategically deliver results; solutions-oriented mindset; team management skills that lead, develop and engage team members; excellent written and oral communications skills; contribute to important decisions aligned with customer needs and organizational goals; able to influence position of the business and the media with strong persuasive capabilities; social media and AI-savvy; naturally embraces new ways of working.
Requirements: Written and oral fluency in English and is a must; interest and knowledge in the automotive industry, mobility solutions and innovation; integrity and the highest ethical values. Must know how to drive a car.
