Job Summary

Responsible for planning, layout, installing, maintaining the installation and maintenance of such equipment as: boilers, test equipment, sprinkler systems, plumbing, production machinery, washroom equipment, material handling equipment, etc. 

A Day in the Life

  • Plumbing: responsible for the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, sprinkler systems, air and steam lines and washroom equipment.
  • Heating: responsible for all boiler room and plant heating equipment including installation, repairing and maintaining of oil burners, stokers, air compressors, mixing valves, etc.
  • Electrical: tasked with the component of all equipment installation covering moving, securing, initial leveling (aid in detailed leveling), and all plumbing hydraulic and hydrostatic operations connected to the setup, repairing, and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Equipment Management: accountable for setting up, fixing, and upkeeping all equipment used for handling materials, such as elevators, conveyors, hoists, and more. 
  • General: to consult and guide any employees on the work vital to the carrying out of the above duties. To uphold all crucial documentation needed for the aforementioned responsibilities. To make periodic inspection of all the above equipment.
  • Will assist other department members (in any classification) as needed to insure safety and improve output. Assist in the training of other employees as vital.
  • Will assist in change over and setup on production lane and equipment to the best of the individual’s ability. Performs various production operations including the operating of multiple machines, where it can be done safely and fills in on positions throughout manufacturing operations as required.

Education

HS Diploma or GED is required.

Experience

  • 3 years of manufacturing mechanical maintenance or industrial mechanical maintenance experience is required. 4-5 years is preferred.
  • Preferred the use of sophisticated shop math and complicated drawings. Apprenticeship in Maintenance skilled craft preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $28.16–$42.24.
