Role Summary:
The General Maintenance Mechanic ensures correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using a computerized maintenance management system.
This is a 1st shift opportunity with overtime (as necessary)
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment.
- Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics. Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
- Work with a maintenance supervisor to continually update the production process and system software.
- Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
- Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
- Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers, and specifications.
- Maintain parts and tool inventory.
- Prepare maintenance reports and summary presentations using daily activity logs, analysis, and trends.
- Maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical knowledge via ongoing training, industry workshops, and technical reading.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant maintenance/mechanical experience
- Industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and CNC equipment
- Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- Previous electrical experience
- High School Diploma/GED
