Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the General Maintenance is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all hotel systems, equipment, and technical infrastructure. This includes electrical and lighting systems, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, building automation, safety and fire‑prevention systems, and general mechanical components.

In this role, you will ensure every maintenance request is handled promptly, efficiently, and with the highest level of courtesy and professionalism. Your mission is to guarantee maximum safety, comfort, and quality for our guests and colleagues, preserving the operational excellence and heritage of Hotel Danieli.

What You Will Do
 

  • Implement preventive maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and technical systems.
  • Update maintenance logs, registers, and documentation to ensure full compliance and traceability.
  • Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and manage interventions on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, automation, and safety systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and perform room or public‑area maintenance with precision and professionalism.
  • Take immediate action during emergencies such as power outages, alarms, or fire‑related events.
  • Install, relocate, or adjust electrical and mechanical equipment when needed.
  • Complete daily troubleshooting tasks related to motors, machines, and systems across both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house areas.
  • Support and participate in the hotel’s energy‑saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials, and coordinate procurement when required.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety and engineering standards, maintaining safe working conditions at all times.
     

What You Bring
 

  • At least 1+ years of proven experience in maintenance of buildings, systems, and technical equipment, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following fields: electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, HVAC, fire‑prevention systems, building automation, or general civil plant engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, courtesy, integrity, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude paired with a passion for problem solving and service.
  • Solid understanding of safety precautions and best practices.
  • Valid authorization to work in Italy.
  • Fluency in Italian, with at least a basic level of English preferred.
  • Ability to use computers and software applications (Outlook, Office, Internet) for reporting and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and handle after‑hours emergencies.

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time position based at Hotel Danieli, Venice
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • You must possess the legal right to work in Italy and have fluency in English and Italian.
