General Ledger Accountant

We are looking for General Ledger Accountant to join our team located in Gdansk, Poland. As a GL Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records for selected countries in Europe.

What will be your key responsibilities?

In this role you will be ensuring overall quality and timely accounting and performing general ledger accounting in line with Hempel standards, including:

  • Fixed assets register and depreciation

  • Assets under construction

  • Clearing (confirmations and transaction posting)

  • Payroll (based on HR summaries)

  • Prepaid costs register

  • Accruals register

  • Provisions

  • Revaluations

  • Current accounts and loans

In addition to this, you will maintain proper documentation for all accounting activities. You will coordinate the month‑end close together with the Financial Controllers and review account accuracy while driving any necessary corrective actions. You will also perform trial balance reviews and reconciliations and support tax, statistical, banking, and employment reporting.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with other departments to gather and reconcile accounting documentation, assist with internal and external audits, and participating in GBS projects and training sessions.

Have You Got What We’re Looking For?

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum 1-year overall experience in finance, with focus on experience in general ledger or full accounting process

  • Good command of English

  • Proven experience with ERP systems (D365)

  • Experience in a shared service center is a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
