Job Summary: This position is part of the Y12 Field Office (YFO), Assistant Manager for Nuclear Safety and Engineering. A successful candidate in this position will serve as a General Engineer/Physical Scientist to provide technical expertise oversight of the Nuclear Safety Basis Program.
Major Duties:

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience applying nuclear safety engineering base program principles, practices, requirements, and objectives sufficient to administer nuclear engineering safety rules, regulations, and standards. Examples of Qualified Experience: Experience performing reviews associated with any of the following: preliminary hazard analysis, un-reviewed safety questions, safety analysis, technical safety requirements, fire hazard analysis, or safety-related systems. Experience with technical or operational problems (e.g. Unreviewed Safety Questions, Potential Inadequate Safety Analysis, Technical Safety Requirement Violation, Occurrence Reporting, Readiness Assessments, and Management Assessments). EN-4: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e. (EN/NQ-3 or GS-12). Examples include (Need 2 of the 3): 1. Experience with leading, reviewing or implementing of nuclear requirements (e.g. 10 CFR 830, DOE O 226.1B, DOE O 420.1C, DOE STD 3009, DOE STD 1027, DOE STD 1189, DOE STD 1186). 2. Experience developing and/or reviewing documents in support of nuclear facility operations associated with any of the following: preliminary hazard analysis, un-reviewed safety questions, safety analysis, technical safety requirements, fire hazard analysis or safety-related systems. 3. Experience in resolving and presenting solutions for technical or operational problems (e.g. Unreviewed Safety Questions, Potential Inadequate Safety Analysis, Technical Safety Requirement Violation, Occurrence Reporting, Readiness Assessments, and Management Assessments).
