Major Duties:

  • You will work with a programmatic and technical team of civilians, military, and contractors in the prototyping, design, integration, production, and testing of submarine-integrated specialized mission systems.
  • You will provide technical data and advice to ensure reliability and accuracy in the identification, development, and implementation of solutions to complex engineering issues and conduct research in support of these solutions.
  • You will conduct and report on engineering studies/projects, feasibility studies, and provide recommendations for improvements and increased efficiency on projects.
  • You will support the acquisition development, and fielding and sustainment of mission systems (e.g., standardization, commonality, configuration and risk management, design, test and evaluation, and modeling and simulation).
  • You will communicate technical information, issues, risks, and solutions with internal and external stakeholders across Government and industry, and report on engineering studies.
  • You will work with multidisciplinary teams to support complex engineering solutions.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing technical support in the study, identification and solutioning of complex engineering problems (e.g., design and integration, robotics, software architecture, hydrodynamics, HM&E systems, platform integration, structural integrity, or vessel stability) for submarine mission systems.
