Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Technical Subject Matter Expert for one or more of the core elements of the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) such as AEGIS Computing Infrastructure, AEGIS Display Systems, Command and Decision or Mission Planner.
  • You will leverage a deep understanding of all AWS elements and their interdependencies.
  • You will lead a team of Engineering Support Services engineers in executing all systems engineering functions for an AWS baseline completing Engineering Technical Reviews of specification changes.
  • You will validate new requirements through Level 3 Engineering Test and Evaluation and verify defect corrections and represent your element in contractor and government-led test events.
  • You will represent AEGIS TECHREP and program sponsors in critical technical reviews and governance boards, including Technical Interchange Meetings, Change Control Boards, Senior CCBs, Problem Review Boards, and Software Integration Boards.
  • You will drive systems engineering activities for AWS using an agile development framework ensuring compliance with DoD standards.
  • You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software developers, testing engineers, naval operators, and government stakeholders.
  • You will ensure seamless system-of-systems integration.
  • You will implement and mature DevSecOps practices to build security and resilience into the system architecture from the ground up and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance to all organizations involved in developing AWS software for all US and Foreign Military Baselines, helping to resolve complex design and integration problems.
  • You will contribute to the development of prioritized defect backlog lists for all in-service and maintenance AWS baselines by utilizing AEGIS TECHREP digital engineering and Combat System Engineering Agent (CSEA) tools.
  • You will actively participate in all development activities conducted under the CSEA's Computer Program Standard (CPS) and System Integrated Engineering Processes (SIEPs).
  • You will collaborate with sponsors on efforts at the Forge supporting AWS and the Integrated Combat System (ICS) to ensure seamless system-of-systems integration.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical oversight planning, managing and coordinating various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and system performance analysis.
