Key Responsibilities:
The Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the implementation of GEDSI within the INCLUSION Project, serving as the focal point for Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), disability, and social inclusion in Nusa Tenggara Timur. The GEDSI Coordinator will report to the Nusa Tenggara Timur Team Leader and will ensure the mainstreaming and implementation of targeted activities so that women’s participation is specifically prioritized throughout project implementation, including monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes. All responsibilities will be carried out in alignment with the project design and the requirements and/or technical guidance of the National Office (NO), World Vision Australia (WVA), and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Strategy Development & Planning
Based on the INCLUSION’s overarching strategy, the coordinate should lead the mainstreaming and targeted strategies to execute the province specific GEDSI and WEE strategy in the province concerned.
Design realistic and pragmatic GEDSI programming interventions that will lead to positive gender equality and disability inclusion outcomes, with an emphasis on WEE.
This might require additional GEDSI analysis and adaptation of activities throughout project life cycle aligned with project overall project design and the intervention plans for targeted value chains.
The coordinator should be familiar with World Vision’s WEE and Livelihoods Sector Frameworks, M&E approach and Program Quality Assurance Standards (PQAS), WVA’s GEDSI Minimum Standards, as well as DFAT’s gender equality and disability inclusion policies and guidance.
Project Implementation
Serve as a focal point for GEDSI/WEE strategy implementation in targeted provinces including mainstreaming and targeted activities aligned to the project logical framework
Be aware of all aspects of WEE implementation, including approaches, challenges, risks and opportunities
Provide technical support, tools, appropriate methods and approach to ensure project quality related to gender
Identify GEDSI inequality issues as they arise, especially related with project value chain/commodity interventions, and propose practical and realistic solutions
Conduct or support the team to conduct responsive fact finding through FGDs and other tools to better understand challenges and opportunities that emerge
Provide recommendations to project management about necessary changes
Based on the monitoring data, and lessons learnt in implementation, provide inputs into proper Detail Implementation Plan, Term of Reference, Budget for assigned activities and implement them in coordination with Project Coordinators.
Work with project team for development of project proposals/Term of Reference particularly related to WEE, disability and social inclusion activities.
Capacity Building
Serve as a resource person on gender and disability social inclusion issues related in collaboration with other Internal department and partners.
Build the capacity of the project and target partners through training, workshop etc. to ensure the engagement of women and persons with disability in project. This working with other technical staff to make the business case for WEE and to promote gender inclusive business models.
Participate in practitioner networks / working groups, to ensure ongoing learning on good practices & sectoral standards relevant to assigned projects.
Accountability & Quality Assurance
Build the capacity of the project and target stakeholders/partners to conduct effective GEDSI analysis from regular Monitoring & Evaluation, produce good documentation, and document lesson learned special on WEE/women engagement.
Ensure that women engagement in economic opportunities as a central issue and being integrated into advocacy works in the project.
Submit monthly report, ITT and other monitoring report for assigned project activities and indicators, and contribute to regular reflection on monitoring practice to make improvement.
Identify, document, disseminate and promote promising practices of GEDSI mainstreaming in disaster preparedness and management in the target project areas village, district and provincial level according to project design.
Networking & Coordination
Communicate effectively Wahana Visi Indonesia’ identity, mission, vision, values and our approach to work in ways that are contextually appropriate and clear.
Develop, contribute and maintain strong relationships, coordination and collaboration with target stakeholders, networking including local government, religious institution, CSO and other related institutions to promote gender and disability inclusion, to represent WV in donors/partners and other meetings as appropriate.
Participate at national to district/field level events
Build relationship with zonal and national team and strategic partners to support the quality of gender and disability in project implementation.
Work closely with other team members and within AP, Zonal and NO team members in providing technical support for gender in project implementation.
Management & Leadership
Develop and manage annual performance agreement
Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report
Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department
Provide Christian value and support to enrich the organization's life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
Manage all risks related to INCLUSION according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks.
Qualifications:
Preferably Social Sciences, Social Worker, Law, Economic/Manajement, Business/Agriculture Works, Law, Business/Agriculture or relevant degree; or Bachelor Degree with at least 3 year experiences in humanitarian aid or gender works for in-country and international position.
A minimum of 3 years working experience in gender equality or women economic empowerment, disability or social inclusion related projects, particularly in livelihood sector with proven leadership experience.
Preferably able to use English both written and verbal (min TOEFL score 450).
30% stay at the office dan 70% travel around districts – Kupang.
Skills and expertise in gender and disability social inclusion issues, ideally in the context of value chain development/market systems development/ agricultural development and gender transformative programs that address harmful social norms and unequal gender relations.
Good understanding and working experience of development, advocacy and emergency affairs approaches.
Proven track record as a trainer and capacity builder in gender and Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion.
A good understanding on gender and disability inclusion as it relates to inclusive business models.
Experience working with farming communities or community-based projects in Eastern Indonesia is an added advantage.
