Role:  GenAI Account Director

Location:  Bangakok, Thailand

About the role:

The Account Director is a senior professional who develops and manages accounts, builds and delivers business, and takes accountability for the human and financial performance of the team. Broadly similar in scope to a Director, this role typically handles smaller accounts — bringing the same strategic authority and commercial rigour at a more focused scale. You may serve as the most senior level of oversight on certain accounts, and will oversee either multiple accounts or the studio's largest strategic client relationships.

You'll provide daily programme management and team member guidance — owning the client relationship at senior stakeholder level, and serving as a primary and authoritative communicator on large strategic accounts. You'll provide excellent strategic and tactical counsel — analysing challenges, developing programmes, and overseeing the delivery of a high-quality, profitable service. You'll be equally focused on growing revenue from existing clients and identifying opportunities with new ones, while managing budgets, billing, and all financial performance requirements for your accounts.
Leading a team of 4–10 people, you'll be responsible for hiring, developing, and motivating the people in your charge — fostering a culture of collaboration, creative excellence, and continuous AI adoption across Beauty AI Studio (BAIS).

What you will be doing:

Client & Account Leadership

  • Own senior client relationships across Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing — serving as the primary and most senior communicator on large strategic accounts, and acting as the trusted strategic partner and escalation point for executive-level stakeholders.
  • Oversee multiple accounts or the studio's largest client accounts — providing daily programme management and ensuring consistent delivery quality and commercial performance across the portfolio.
  • Provide strategic and tactical counsel to clients: analysing business challenges, identifying opportunities, and developing programmes that deliver measurable impact.
  • Lead strategic planning across accounts — defining objectives, shaping creative direction, and ensuring AI-powered solutions are integrated effectively into client programmes.
  • Guide clients through AI implementation — building confidence, managing change, and demonstrating the value of generative AI within beauty and FMCG creative workflows.
  • Drive business development from both existing and new clients — identifying growth opportunities, leading proposals, and converting strategic conversations into commercial outcomes.
  • Oversee multi-channel campaign delivery across social, digital, video, and retail media — ensuring every output meets the creative and quality standards the category demands.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Take full accountability for account-level P&L — managing budgets, billing, revenue forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
  • Manage budgets, billing, and all financial performance requirements across your account portfolio with accuracy and commercial rigour.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve account profitability — optimising resource allocation, managing scope, and mitigating financial risk.
  • Report on commercial performance to senior OLIVER leadership, with clarity on revenue, margin, and growth trajectory.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 4–10 people — including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to team members — supporting delivery, managing workloads, and maintaining team motivation and wellbeing alongside output excellence.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture that balances creative ambition with commercial accountability.
  • Mentor and develop account management talent within the team, building capability in client service, strategic thinking, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Set standards for responsible, effective use of generative AI tools within client work and internal processes, and embed adoption across the team.

Project & Studio Oversight

  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery across the account portfolio — ensuring timelines, quality standards, and profitability targets are met consistently.
  • Manage resource allocation across the team, sequencing workloads to maintain delivery momentum without compromising output quality.
  • Develop and maintain rigorous project documentation, status reporting, and risk management practices across all active workstreams.
  • Work closely with creative, production, and data teams to ensure cohesive, integrated delivery across all client programmes.

What you need to be great in this role:

Client Leadership and Strategic Thinking

  • Proven track record of leading senior client relationships and growing accounts within beauty, wellness, FMCG, or adjacent sectors.
  • Experience serving as the primary and most senior point of contact on large, complex strategic accounts — with the presence and authority this demands.
  • Experience overseeing multiple accounts or holding senior oversight responsibility on the largest and most complex client accounts within a studio or agency.
  • Experience providing strategic and tactical counsel to senior clients — developing programmes, solving complex business challenges, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Confidence operating at executive stakeholder level — presenting with authority, managing expectations, and building long-term client trust.
  • Experience driving business development from both existing and new clients, including leading pitches and commercial proposals.
  • Deep understanding of the beauty and personal care category — its consumers, content demands, platform dynamics, and competitive landscape.

Commercial and Financial Acumen

  • Demonstrable experience managing account-level P&L — including revenue forecasting, budget management, billing, and profitability optimisation.
  • Track record of delivering commercial growth through strong account stewardship and proactive opportunity identification.
  • Experience managing budgets, billing processes, and financial performance requirements across a portfolio of accounts.
  • Confidence in commercial negotiation and scope management.

Team Leadership and People Development

  • Experience leading, managing, and developing teams of 4–10 people, including hiring and performance management.
  • Ability to build and sustain high-performing, motivated teams in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary studio environments.
  • Track record of developing talent and building capability within account management functions.
  • Experience providing daily guidance to team members across both delivery and professional development.

Channel and Production Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of social, digital, video, and retail media channels — and the content production workflows that support them.
  • Experience overseeing integrated campaign delivery across multiple channels and markets simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative production and the ability to guide clients through its practical application.

Gen AI & Agentic Thinking

  • Experience establishing AI quality standards and governance frameworks for a team — ensuring responsible, effective adoption across client work and internal processes.
  • Ability to integrate AI across team workflows and client deliverables, with a clear understanding of where AI enhances output and where human judgement must lead.
  • Experience guiding clients through AI implementation — building understanding, managing change, and demonstrating commercial value.
  • Agentic leadership: a systematic, goal-oriented approach to complex business challenges — breaking problems into components, identifying optimal paths forward, and executing with clarity and adaptability.
  • Guides team members in responsible AI adoption; mentors on critical evaluation of AI outputs before sharing with clients or stakeholders.
  • Understanding of emerging Gen AI capabilities relevant to beauty, FMCG, and content production — with the curiosity to stay ahead and bring new thinking into the studio.
