Gear Sets Machining Manufacturing Production Process Engineer II - Midnight Shift

Inside the Role

Provide Process Engineering support for Gear Sets machining operations. Requires technical and process ownership necessary to meet daily production demands. Direct interface with machining supervisors and production operators diagnosing, correcting, and enhancing machining processes

Position offers a starting salary range of $90,000 – $115,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

**ROLE IS FOR 3RD SHIFT**

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Ensure and maintain the qualification of manufacturing processes

  • Designs, develops, and implements new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods

  • Conducts tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems

  • Interface with Quality personnel to provide direction on issues related to process quality

  • Assist Maintenance in trouble shooting breakdowns and scheduling preventative maintenance

  • Interface with hourly and maintenance workers

  • Diagnosis of daily Machining process/quality issues

  • Oversee process and machine change overs due to product changes

  • CNC program maintenance and documentation

  • Assist with tool development

  • Development of Standardized Work Instructions (SWI)

  • Process Improvements to improve productivity

  • Data Analysis/Correlation

  • Technical Coach for Supervisors and Operator

  • Ensures that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations

Knowledge You Should Bring​

  • Bachelor’s degree in in mechanical, manufacturing , industrial or electrical engineering or related field 

  • 2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment and processes

  • Proficiency in CNC machining

  • Machine tolerances and set-up

  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing of hypoid and bevel gear sets

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, high level of analytical and logical problem solving ability

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Lean Manufacturing skills preferable

  • Greenbelt / Blackbelt preferable
