The integration developer is responsible to design, develop, monitor, and support high‑quality integration solutions that connect SAP S/4HANA with internal and external applications. This role ensures operational stability, resolves integration incidents, implements enhancements, and adheres to enterprise integration standards. The Integration Developr contributes deep technical expertise to sustain daily operations and optimize integration performance across SAP PI/PO, SAP BTP-IS , SAP BTP services, APIs, IDocs, and event‑driven patterns.

Goal of function:

Own the SAP integration strategy and execution across the enterprise, ensuring secure, scalable, and reusable integrations that enable end-to-end business processes across SAP and non-SAP systems. Provide leadership for API-led connectivity, data exchange, and event-driven patterns to support S/4HANA and cloud platforms while complying with governance, security, and performance standards.

Tasks*

  • Support Application Maintenance & Development of integrations and Roll Outs using SAP Business Technology Platform Integration Suite.
  • Design, develop, and deploy integration flows (iFlows) using SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration).
  • Build and maintain APIs using API Management.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for production interfaces.
  • Perform incident analysis, debugging, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Implement bug fixes and enhancements
  • Ensure SLA compliance.
  • Support unit testing, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
  • Ensure adherence to integration development standards.
  • Work closely with functional consultants to understand integration requirements. Collaborate with BASIS and infrastructure teams for connectivity setup.

2) Secondary tasks:

• Coach and mentor integration developers; perform design/code reviews and promote best practices.

• Drive automation for build and deployment (CI/CD) of integration artifacts.

• Partner with Basis, Security, and Data teams on performance tuning, identities, and data quality controls.

3) Miscellaneous tasks:

• Plan and Support cutovers and hypercare during project releases.

• Evaluate emerging SAP/BTP integration capabilities and recommend adoption roadmaps.

• Contribute to vendor RFPs and SoW reviews for integration tooling and services.

Qualifications, experience, know-how and skills critical for success*

1) Required training and education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Vocational training, university degree, PhD, MBA, specialized further education etc.

  • 2) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of SAP integration experience with atleast  3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI).
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA integrations in an AMS/production support model.
  • Good understanding of SAP functional processes (FI, MM, SD, PP).
  • SAP BTP/Integration Suite certification (preferred).

4) Other specialized knowledge:

a) Technical knowledge

  • SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management)
  • SAP S/4HANA integration technologies (IDoc, OData, RFC, SOAP, REST, EDI, AS2)
  • SAP Gateway and OData services
  • Interface monitoring in SAP BTP
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • Life Sciences Industry experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of GXP standards..

b) Languages

Fluent English; additional European language a plus.

c) IT skills

Proficiency with SAP Solution Manager/Cloud ALM, Interface Monitoring (e.g., SAP Application Interface Framework/PAI), and log/metric tools; working knowledge of Azure/AWS services for connectivity.

d) Product knowledge

S/4HANA core processes (O2C, P2P/S2P, M2D, R2R), SAP Ariba, SuccessFactors, and common non-SAP SaaS endpoints.
