GBM Strategic Planning Lead

What You Will Achieve

This role, in partnership with the GBM Performance & Execution Lead, will lead the strategic planning process with the leadership team across the Global Biopharma Manufacturing OpU to create a multi-year blueprint in support of PGS’s and Pfizer’s growth aspirations.  Develop implementation roadmap that propels GBM to the forefront of biopharma manufacturing—accelerating growth, strengthening supply resilience, and elevating quality and patient impact in alignment with PGS and the enterprise vision.  

  

In this role, you will:

  • Guide and facilitate the strategic planning process with the OpU Leadership and key stakeholders 
  • Develop a comprehensive multi-year blueprint for Global Biopharma Manufacturing, aligned with overall PGS and Pfizer’s organizational objectives and vision 
  • Build and maintain an integrated implementation roadmap, with defined initiatives, to achieve established strategic goals 
  • Foster a culture that challenges conventions, encourages new ideas, continuous improvement, and innovative solutions to drive excellence 
  • Systematically research pharma and non‑pharma trends, competitor moves, regulatory shifts, and macro forces; convert signals into capability requirements and strategic pivots 
  • Oversee and guide organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective adoption of new strategies and processes across all relevant teams 
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams promoting open communication, shared accountability, and alignment on vision and strategic priorities 
  • Support monitoring and reporting of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment and measurable outcomes 

  

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • BA/BS with at least 8+ years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing 
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, and driving change management 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across PGS functions and work effectively across all levels of the organization 
  • Skilled at transforming complex information into clear, actionable frameworks and concise executive narratives that enable informed decision-making at the senior leadership level 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience solving multifaceted, complex and unique problems 
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and an understanding of operational complexities 
  • Proficiency in project management 
  • Experience in leading large-scale transformation or integration 
  • Strong understanding of Pfizer’s organizational objectives and the broader biopharma industry landscape 
  • High business acumen of Pfizer and PGS operations, understanding of end to end and cross‑functional governance of Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Digital, Finance, and Supply Chain 
  • Thrive in ambiguity, creating clarity without perfect data, while challenging orthodoxies to spark transformative ideas and translating them into pragmatic, actionable plans. 
  • Proficiency in use of operational excellence methodologies (lean six sigma, innovation) to solve site and network business challenges 
  • Knowledgeable of Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx)  
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or relevant advanced degree) 
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing multi-year strategic blueprints

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156 600,00 to $261 000,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20,0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
