System engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline, dealing with all activities needed to develop a solution to meet both the business need and the technical requirements of internal and external customers. System engineer will act as integrator among other engineering disciplines, being directly responsible of fluid system design of auxiliary systems.

As System Engineer, you will be in charge of system definition and process integration for trains composed by gas turbines, centrifugal compressors and Generators. You will adhere to quality and timeliness of engineering systems integration deliverables based on customers’ satisfaction, testing goals accomplishment, and site installation/service support, ensuring the balance between design flexibility needs and standard configuration adoption.

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • You will be responsible for development and finalization of the main document for auxiliary systems design (P&IDs, Load list, Utility list etc).
  • Conducting and successfully complete HAZOP meetings, SIL review and alarm rationalization, in guidance with seniors, for personnel safety and asset integrity management
  • Developing predictive system design through modeling and numerical simulation (Matlab/Simulink, FloMaster, Hysys)
  • Performing calculations for sizing the control valves (ISA 75), Safety valves (API520/521), lines, on-off valves, filters, Orifices (ISO 5167), instruments, Seal system (API 692 / API614) etc
  • Organizing System Design Review with seniors, assuring action/challenges are mitigated and completed in time and with quality
  • Working close to Projects Engineers and other departments to facilitate smooth projects execution.
  • Building expertise on turbomachinery operation and relevant auxiliary system design
  • Contribute with technical expertise to new energy technology solutions development such as Hydrogen, CO2, CCUS and Energy storage.
  • Building relations with all involved Engineering, Procurement and Field Service functions with IET organization
  • Attending technical meetings with Customers and suppliers, provide support to testing and supply chain department
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved
  • Contributing to have a flawless execution of design activities, including technical alignments with suppliers.
  • Participating in the innovative ideas generation process, product improvement and KAIZEN ideas
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for resolution of all Gas Turbine Mechanical Level 3 (L3) cases across all GT product lines Heavy Duty, Aero derivative, Nova LT turbines and Centrifugal compressor  (both package & Balance of plant)—while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards in accordance with established KPIs.
  • Facilitating collaboration with Customers, Site teams and cross-functional engineering groups to develop and implement effective, robust corrective actions at project locations yielding in customer satisfaction.
  • Presenting NCM (Non-Conformity Management) trends and resolution status during Quality Monthly Reviews (QMR), with a focus on in-depth analysis of critical cases based on complexity and cost-of-quality considerations.
  • Driving the identification of actionable insights and oversee the implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence of issues across equipment design, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external engineers, to achieve targeted outcomes and maintain high standards of performance across all assigned cases.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Non-Conformity Management (NCM) Reduction Framework, targeting a year-over-year reduction of NCMs by 25%. This includes overseeing activities related to loopback, containment, and preventive action identification, and securing approvals from Technical Title Holders (TTH) to ensure sustained quality improvements.
  • Collaborating closely with the configuration team to ensure the effective implementation and adoption of preventive actions.
  • Facilitating comprehensive technical training and leads lessons learned sharing initiatives to enhance team expertise in core business products, while fostering cross-functional skill development and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you shall have:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Nuclear, or equivalent engineering
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, mechanical and thermal physical domains
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery and/or process design
  • Be able to show good problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills along with interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills acting as team player
  • Be fluent in verbal and written English
  • Be able to interface effectively with all stakeholders
  • Demonstrate ability to drive cultural change within the Organization, with open mind and technical acumen
