Role Description

• We are looking for a highly skilled reliability engineer to provide critical support for the Foreign Exchange (FX) in the Global FX IT support team, providing front line support to the trading and sales business community and external clients for the FX applications (Pricing and Trading), including the algorithmic ultra-low latency stack and their associated applications used by the Global Foreign Exchange business. In this role you will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the real-time trading environment by applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. You will engage directly with key stakeholders on day-to-day basis to provide support, to troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement in both processes and the environment.
• The team is responsible for management of Deutsche Bank’s premier FX trading platforms providing execution, market data and post-trade services to external and internal clients.Each individual is expected to balance between fast response (e.g. electronic trading monitoring and incident management) and longer-term activities (e.g. dev ops, release planning, security and audit reviews). Working in Production Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Your key responsibilities

• Incident Management: Respond rapidly to production incidents with data driven decision making, minimizing downtime and financial impact. Lead root cause analysis and conduct blameless post-mortems 
• Monitoring & Automation: Enhance application health monitoring and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience
• System Optimization: Drive cost optimization and manage capacity resources to ensure efficient and scalable operations
• Collaboration: Partner with development teams to design and deploy fault-tolerant, scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
• Governance & Compliance: Enforce and adhere to change, incident, and problem management policies, as well as bank specific nonfinancial risk frameworks
• Mentorship: Support the growth of junior team members and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous
• The role also demands an early start on Mondays and working on Weekends (for releases).

Your skills and experience

• At least bachelor’s degree in a technical/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a production support, SRE, or DevOps role within a trading or financial services environment
• Good knowledge of application development lifecycle and maintenance
• Experience of 7-12 years in Financial/Investment banking domain and supporting front office trading applications
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
• Familiarity with production management i.e. capacity management, incident management, change management
• Understanding of business fundamentals of FIC electronic trading including FX (spot, forwards etc), Money markets and commodities.
• Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate directly with business and technical partners at all levels.
• Strong technical skills in Linux/Unix systems, SQL, and scripting
• Strong experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, etc
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, GENEOS, Open Telemetry, Corvil)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (continuous Delivery) pipelines
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and fundament
