FX Operations Analyst

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will provide support on various tasks related to back-office activities in relation to FX transactions executed by RBC Investor Services (ITS) Market Services FX Desk consisting of custody and non-custody clients. You will work closely with global counterparts in Malaysia to provide support as part of a follow the sun model to all stakeholders.

What will you do?

  • Monitor and action trade amendment and outright cancellation in a timely manner

  • Review and investigate FX related breaks in Nostro and FX Ops accounts

  • Monitor and ensure all client and Market counterparty FX confirmations are matched timely

  • Provide timely execution and delivery of incoming/outgoing requests as per Service Level Agreement and/or FX Operation deliverable

  • Ensure compliance to existing FX Standing Instruction Mandates are being adhered by relevant Business counterparts.

  • Manage relationships with various internal/external stakeholders and ensure that competing priorities are appropriately triaged to mitigate operational risk and PnL Impact.

  • Maintain solid communication and partnership with global teams in Malaysia to ensure handover tasks are clearly defined.

  • Ensure Desk Operating Procedures are frequently reviewed and strictly observed to mitigate any potential errors in processes applicable to the desk.

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • Strong business acumen and client focus

  • Knowledge of FX and Custody Products

  • Minimum 2 years related TMS Operations experience. Solid knowledge of FX Operations specifically for FWDs, SPOTS and Swaps and market practices with particular emphasis on operational processes for such transactions

  • Strong ability to articulate communications both orally and through email to ensure transparency.

  • High degree of accuracy, ability to analyze large amounts of data, strong organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under tight timelines and solid time management skills to meet deliverables 

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge in banking/finance

  • Knowledge of the following applications – ACE, MILVUS, FXOMS, Kondor, BBG, FXAll, FX Connect

  • Relevant experience in Investor & Treasury Services

  • Advanced Excel (VBA, Macro), and beginner/Intermediate Coding
