Future Specialty Care Portfolio Strategy Lead – US Specialty Care (12 Month Secondment)

Role Purpose: 
US lead for the development of a forward-looking Specialty Care portfolio strategy bridging current assets with future pipeline opportunities to strengthen long-term competitiveness. Collaborate across therapeutic areas, Medical, R&D, Global Marketing, CSI, and BD&L to provide US market inputs, shape strategic direction, inform future investment decisions, and create organizational readiness. US lead to establish a comprehensive Respiratory strategy, preparing for trispecifics and broader Specialty Care pipeline launches. 
  
Key Responsibilities: 
Portfolio Strategy & Future Planning 
•       Develop and articulate the long-term Specialty Care portfolio vision for the US, ensuring alignment between today’s portfolio and future pipeline assets. 
•       Identify strategic gaps, unmet needs, and opportunities to strengthen the portfolio’s competitive positioning. 
•       US lead for portfolio scenario planning, future readiness assessments, and strategic prioritization for investment and resource alignment. 
•       Deliver a US market implementation roadmap for 2026-2028 with interdependencies and clear execution plans for each stakeholder, including actions by cross-functional owners, milestones, and deliverable deadlines to address readiness gaps 
•       Outline and begin pre-launch US market engagement activities to shape and validate the market opportunity with key stakeholders, such thought leader engagement, conference attendance, and conducting product theaters or ad boards 
Cross-Functional Strategic Leadership 
•       Collaborate closely with Therapeutic Area Leads and Medical to translate disease area trends, evolving science, and unmet needs into future strategic priorities. 
•       Work with CSI, Medical, and Global Marketing to shape positioning, value propositions, and market readiness for early and late-stage pipeline assets. 
•       Engage with R&D and Medical to align scientific direction with strategic priorities, ensuring future assets address key growth opportunities. 
•       Partner with CSI/GCA to integrate market trends, environmental dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer insight into future portfolio planning. 
Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) Collaboration 
•       Partner with BD&L to inform external opportunity scanning, ensuring alignment with portfolio strategy and identified unmet needs. 
•       Define strategic criteria and therapeutic priorities to guide BD&L in asset identification and evaluation. 
•       Support scientific and commercial assessments of external opportunities, including valuations and strategic fit analysis. 
•       Contribute to internal alignment and recommendation processes to secure support for BD&L-informed strategic directions. 
Respiratory Strategy Leadership 
•       Lead the development of a comprehensive US Respiratory strategy, including preparation plans for trispecific launch and future R&D portfolio launches. 
•       Assess emerging science, competitive dynamics, and evolving market landscapes in respiratory. 
•       Define long-term Respiratory positioning, launch pathways, and cross-functional readiness milestones and owners. 
Strategic Influence & Executive Engagement 
•       Synthesize complex insights into clear, strategic recommendations for senior leadership, including the President of US Specialty Care. 
•       Lead executive-level discussions on portfolio prioritization, sequencing, investment, and external commercial opportunity alignment. 
•       Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure cohesive execution of the Specialty Care future strategy. 
  
Experience & Qualifications: 
•       12+ years in strategy, new product planning, portfolio management, BD&L collaboration, or related roles in Specialty Care TAs or respiratory. 
•       Strong experience influencing strategic decisions across cross-functional teams, including R&D, BD&L, Marketing, Medical, and Finance. 
•       Proven ability to lead strategic planning, portfolio shaping, and valuation of business opportunities. 
•       Exceptional communication, executive engagement, and strategic storytelling skills. 
•       Strong strategic thinking, ability to navigate ambiguity, and comfort operating at the enterprise level
