Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.

JOB SUMMARY: 

Inspecting and repairing furniture as well as assembling furniture for our clients as directed by the Station Manager or Floor Supervisor. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Inspecting all furniture that comes through the warehouse to make sure it meets company standards 

  • Evaluate damages and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration for wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery 

  • Maintain inventory and stock records within refurbishing department and order supplies required to perform daily tasks 

  • Utilizing tools and other specialized machinery to repair furniture 

  • Assisting with delivery of said products to homes and other locations 

  • ability to assist with off-loading trailers manually (no forklifts) 

  • Ability to assist with pulling delivery routes 

  • Other duties as requested 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 

  • Ability to assemble & repair furniture carefully and accurately 

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced environment 

  • Efficiency with color matching and blending 

  • Able to read, write and speak English 

EDUCATION: 

  • High School degree or equivalent 

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 75 pounds.. Position requires regular use of a phone and a PC and reading and writing of various shipping documents.

Pay Range:  

 $30 TO $31.25 per hour

Hours: Monday through Friday

7am-4pm

  

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
