As an EV Mechanic Instructor and Foreperson, Autonomous Ride Hail Vehicles (“AV”), you will play a key role in providing technical training to the maintenance of the Autonomous Ride Hail Vehicles, including training creation, delivery and tracking. In this role, you will ensure that all fleet technicians, service personnel, and supervisors possess the continued technical competence and safety awareness required to maintain the Company’s AVs are in line with OEM and Company standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop, deliver, and continuously refine training on the AV fleet, utilizing online and hands-on learning techniques.
- Translate OEM service bulletins, engineering updates, and safety advisories into practical, fleet-specific procedures and training, integrating OEM and corporate content.
- Assess technician competency levels and tailor learning and development plans to address skill gaps, improving workshop efficiency and first-time fix rates.
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) and escalation point for AV and EV diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Provide on-site and virtual technical support to service teams for high-voltage systems, battery conditioning, and driveline issues.
- Partner with Fleet Operations leadership to analyze maintenance metrics and identify training interventions that reduce downtime and improve fleet availability.
- Embed data-driven performance tracking within training programs — monitoring the impact of technician skill levels on vehicle uptime and repair turnaround time.
- Drive best practices in predictive maintenance and diagnostics to minimize unplanned service interruptions.
- Champion high-voltage and battery safety standards, ensuring compliance with OEM, OSHA, and environmental regulations, delivering specialized training on safe EV component handling, battery recycling, and sustainable maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, certification, and outcomes within the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure staff are properly trained prior to repairing AVs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of High School Diploma, an associate’s degree or technical degree is preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in automotive service with prior experience developing and administering robust training programs.
- 2 or more years' experience working on hybrid and/or high voltage systems and able to use test tools and read electrical wiring schematics. ASE L3 Certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver comprehensive training programs to a diverse workforce.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Comfortable using mobile and computer-based fleet management tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and procedural accuracy
- Strong organization and prioritization skills, self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license, authorized to work in the United States and successful completion of pre-employment qualification checks
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and operations teams
- Ability to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced environment that may include early morning, nights, or weekends, as determined by business needs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for up to 8 hours and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to work in varying environments, such as indoors and outdoors
- This is an on-site, in-person role.
