Agile way of working
At BMG delivery we work Agile in DevOps squads whom are fully responsible for their application; from user story refinement to pushing your code to production and giving support to business on incidents. This means that feedback and fast learning is a critical part of your day to day job. We believe that feedback is essential for growth and put high value on effective feedback skills. We have an open culture to facilitate this and short lines to ensure support for valuable feedback. This requires that you work intensely together with your college's inside and outside your squad. We have a hybrid working schedule where we work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
The Spider/Messaging team works on a service bus application which makes sure that every message goes from A to B in a highly reliable manner, at least once. Due to the nature of the application we touch almost all functional events/flows within BMG, this requires great coordination and communication skills as in each new feature you need to collaborate with at least 2 different teams. It is also highly critical for BMG as all payment streams and FX deals go through this system and as such high QA standards are fundamental. We are using the Azure DevOps pipeline for our daily work and our applications are running in the ING Private Cloud. The state-full services are running on VM's. We are a team that is always looking ahead to see which technology is beneficial for our purpose. The next steps in the coming years for the application is using looking to extend our monitoring and alerting while also helping the business to migrate from MT to MX. As such we are looking for someone who is a great communicator and can take the lead from time to time within a complex environment as BMG.
We expect the following Tech skills:
10 years of Java programming (spring/Spring boot) skills in commercial environment
Extensive experience with JMS and Artemis Broke
Extensive experience with Elastic search end related API development
Experience with broker cluster set up
Deep CI/CD experience and understanding
Monitoring tools: Kibana, Grafana
Linux / shell scripting
And the following soft skills:
Exceptional communication and coordination skills
English language professional level
Good knowledge of BMG products
Knowledge of Swift payments and MT-MX migration
