The team

The Global Retention Platform (GRP) team is responsible for developing and maintaining the global solution of Global Retention Platform at ING's People and Hubs Enterprise Content & Automation (P&H - EC&A) tribe.

Our platform offers a comprehensive set of capabilities that facilitates managing retention and deletion of records globally, in a standardized way. This platform offers advanced features such as legal hold and schedule-based retention to all ING entities over the globe.

As a member of the GRP team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and evolving this platform, contributing to its scalability, performance, and user experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design and implement robust solutions, and ensure the seamless integration of our platform with various systems across ING.

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of back-end development experience (including lead development)

  • Extensive experience in Java 11 or above, at least one relational database, Elastic stack, Kafka, and streaming technologies, with a proven ability to create highly scalable, containerized, secure, and high-performance REST APIs

  • Strong architectural skills, conceptual understanding, and the ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts outside of one's comfort zone, coupled with an itch and self-motivation for solving technical and functional challenges.

  • Familiarity in cloud platforms like Azure, system monitoring tools and practices, and experience working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

  •  Excellent communication skills, capable of acting as a sparring partner for business and technical colleagues, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions (presentations, workshops, documentation), and setting new technical standards within ING Bank
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and an agile way of working, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt to iterative development processes.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), with the flexibility to travel to the office at least three times a week.
