What you will do
This role is responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operations at our Grand Prairie, TX site. The Warehouse Manager will oversee a small team and ensure safe, efficient handling of inbound and outbound pallet flow while maintaining strong inventory control and customer service standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both operational execution and site ownership.
Lead, coach, and develop a small team while modelling CHEP’s values and culture
Ensure a safe work environment by managing and enforcing the CHEP Safety Program
Oversee daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
Coordinate inbound and outbound product flow (forklifts and trucks)
Maintain accurate inventory and ensure timely system updates and data entry
Communicate effectively with internal partners, drivers, and customer stakeholders
Ensure all key processes (safety, quality, and service) are clearly understood and followed
Support daily execution by remaining hands-on, including forklift operation as needed
Monitor site performance and ensure operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment
Maintain the overall condition and organization of the warehouse
What you will bring
Experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and/or logistics environment
Previous leadership experience in a warehouse or small site operation
Prior forklift operation experience required
Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory control
Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations strongly preferred
Proven track record of reliability, accountability, and performance (typically 2–5 years’ experience)
Comfortable working in a hands-on role with a small team
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Basic systems experience (WMS, SAP, or similar) preferred
Mechanical aptitude or exposure to warehouse equipment is a plus
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3 – 5 years of equivalent work experience
Skills & Knowledge
Applicants need a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
Demonstrated solid decision making
Works well unsupervised
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Must be willing to work Saturdays and extended hours as necessary
