Summary
The Trade Compliance FTZ Administrator will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and compliance activities related to Varex Imaging’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations. This role ensures the company’s FTZ activities are conducted in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, FTZ Board regulations, and internal policies. The Administrator will collaborate with various cross-functional teams including logistics, warehousing, finance, procurement, and manufacturing to maintain the FTZ’s operational integrity and compliance.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FTZ Operations Management:
- Administer all FTZ operational activities, including inventory control, recordkeeping, reporting, admissions, and withdrawals.
- Monitor FTZ daily transactions to ensure accurate and timely filings (e.g., e214s, admission summaries, and Customs entries).
- Coordinate FTZ production activities, ensuring compliance with authorized scope of manufacturing/production.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Maintain FTZ compliance with CBP regulations, FTZ Board requirements, and other applicable trade laws, and recommend and implement any improvements related thereto.
- Conduct regular internal audits of FTZ activities to ensure compliance and identify and recommend and implement opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare for and manage CBP or other governmental agency audits and reviews related to FTZ operations.
Inventory Control and Reporting:
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on modifications to relevant policies, procedures, and operations in order to effectively operate the FTZ.
- Oversee FTZ inventory management system to ensure accuracy between physical and system records.
- Prepare and submit required reports, including the Annual Report to the FTZ Board and any necessary CBP reports.
Training and Communication:
- Provide FTZ training to internal teams and stakeholders to promote compliance awareness.
- Function as a liaison with CBP, FTZ operators, Grantee, and other third parties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Trade Compliance, Logistics, or trade-related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Licensed Customs Broker
- 3+ years of experience managing or administering FTZ operations, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, FTZ operations, and related trade compliance practices.
Skills:
- Proficient in FTZ inventory management systems and SAP platform.
- Familiarity with ACE Portal, e214 process, and CBP interaction protocols.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with warehouse floor exposure.
