Department Description
The Department is responsible for Web, Client Interface, Data, Record Keeping and Transfer Agency systems of the Distributions offering. The core engine allows dealing, income distributions, payment processing, customer accounting and record keeping etc. There is interaction amongst various web teams which provide Instruction/Service triggers to invoke functional processing and deal creation; and also with various data and reporting platforms to fulfil their data needs. The dynamics of stake holder management are complex because the Transfer Agency product is being enhanced to meet the needs of various Product owners; lines of Business and Concurrent Projects.
Purpose of the Role
The candidate will be joining one of the teams in Global Platform Solutions (GPS) area. and will be responsible for driving the change deliveries through analysis and evaluation of customer business problems and leading the development towards strategic solutions. This requires product backlog management & further involves collaborating with multiple teams and keeping them on the same page to ensure business requirements are met effeciently.
The candidate should be able to understand, visualise & document Business processes & user journeys end to end in a manner that is easily understandable for a new joiner.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for addressing and supporting the UK and European business projects for new and existing products and project initiatives across our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead requirement gathering meetings and workshops, including interviews with stakeholders and SMEs.
- Understand complex business issues and the technical implications associated with business requirements.
- Understand & document requirements for defining user experiences (UI/UX).
- Understanding end to end journey from UX, API integrations as well as from data perspective.
- Understanding Data Lifecycle, Creating Data Catalogues and data mappings between different systems.
- Creating story maps through right epic and user story breakdown
- Leading requirement walkthroughs and 3 Amigos sessions for the delivery teams
- Must be able to drive solution discussions and produce solution design documents with a functional lens.
- Identifying the scope of a requirement with multiple stakeholders and get an approval from them on the analysis artefacts.
- Identifying dependencies on related teams for a requirement and raise well in time.
- Report and resolve and/or escalate risks/issues as part of the overall project team.
- Ensuring all project decisions are documented and communicated to stakeholders
- Interact & work with third party partners and suppliers
- Handle a demanding work environment and maintain a very high level of deliverable quality
- Co-ordination across multiple system/projects delivering common, re-usable features using service-oriented patterns
- Acting as a proxy customer with the development teams to review the implementations as each sprint completes and then facilitating open communication between the customer & development team.
- Driving user acceptance criteria with the customer
- Co-ordinate with onshore-offshore UK/India business analysts. Work with onshore-offshore UK/India development teams
- Stay abreast of key emerging products / industry standards in the Business Analysis arena
- Contribute to BA forums, lead process improvement initiatives
Experience and Qualifications Required
- 4-7 years of total work experience
- 4 years of BA experience preferably in Banking and financial services domain with technology teams. UK markets and financial products exposure is preferable
- Experience of working in an ecosystem based on service oriented architecture
- Experience of defining API request and responses is preferred
Essential Skills / Experience
- Understanding of Capital markets and how an asset management firm operates.
- Understanding end to end journey from business, data as well as systems perspective.
- Strong SQL query writing skills, and be able to do in-depth data analysis for producing data mappings between various data and reporting platforms
- Analysing the impact of upstream changes, in terms of data and communicating downstream impact as well.
- Writing API contracts in Swagger.
- Should have experience of dealing with multiple Stakeholders, covering different geographies
- Should have excellent requirement elicitation skills for requirement gathering and gap analysis
- Should have experience producing functional specifications documents (FSDs)
- Should have experience producing Solution Design Specifications by working closely with architects and developer community
- Ability to progress the analysis and drive decisions to close open issue through discussions with multiple stakeholders.
- Must be strong in translating business requirements to technical resources (internal and external) in supporting the project

- Strong documentation skills of standard SDLC artefacts like SRA/SDS etc.
- Should have experience in agile ways of working. Should know how to breakdown a requirement into epics and stories as per INVEST principles.
- Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation & presentation skills.
- Ideally have experience of e-Business, e-Commerce & Internet technologies, best practices & industry standards.
- AWS cloud certification is preferred but not mandatory.
