This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewUnder the direction of the Patient Care Manager in Endoscopy or designee, the Endoscopy Technician II provides assistance to the physicians during endoscopic procedures. Assist in pre and post procedure Care of endoscopy patients as directed, recognizing and addressing age-appropriate needs. Assist in functions to help the unit run smoothly, such as supplies, equipment and room maintenance.

What you will do- Acts as a precept to team and provides guidance to lower-level ETs as needed.
- Accurately performs endoscopy procedures, handles specialized equipment and provides assistance to the physicians during endoscopy procedures.
- Communicates in a positive, clear and concise manner to all members of the procedural team.
- Assists in equipment maintenance and assures adequate equipment and supplies for day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of the individual taking into consideration age, culture, and developmental issues.
- Assists in setting up equipment and rooms for specialized procedure.
- Consistently demonstrates required competencies.
- Demonstrates appropriate endoscope care technique.
- Develops positive working relationships with all members of the health care team.
- Handles specimens using correct technique and according to departmental policy and procedure.
- Maintains clean technique as well as performs cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Monitors and communicates to procedural team members any breaks in technique and unsafe patient situations.
- Prepares for the procedures by opening correct supplies and preparing instruments and equipment needed for the scheduled case.
- Assures all materials are available and in working order and verifies own skill in using equipment correctly.
- Utilize knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology, anticipates and responds to needs of proceduralists by requesting instruments/supplies based on procedure and case progress.
- Prepare supplies and equipment for anesthesia cases and assist anesthesiologist as needed.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment and follow reporting process.
Education Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience Qualifications- At least two (2) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience within SHC, Or
- Two (2) years of Endo Tech experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Ability to provide comfort and support for perioperative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient’s care/privacy.
- Ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of the individual taking into consideration age, culture, and developmental issues.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and make informed decisions.
- Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
- Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice at a level appropriate for the job.
- Ability to assist the team in meeting standard work requirements for all patient care in the endoscopy unit, including but not limited to, setting up a case, activities related to patient care during the case, and cleaning at completion of the case.
- Knowledge and theoretical understanding of normal/abnormal anatomy/physiology.
- Knowledge and understanding of endoscopy procedures to anticipate needs/request from proceduralists.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
- Knowledge of the principles of technique in assisting endoscopy procedures.
- Ability to communicate and immediately correct identified breaks in technique in assisting any endoscopy procedures.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Stanford Healthcare policies and practices that meet all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of general safety procedures and ability to escalate any violations of safety procedures, as appropriate.
- Takes accountability for own clinical and professional growth based on continuing education, evaluations, and feedback.
Licenses and Certifications- BLS - Basic Life Support .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $38.15 - $42.96 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
