Join us in building the front-end application of our InfraPort Data Management System (DMS). You’ll work with modern frameworks, ship real features, and help create a smooth, professional user experience for one of the bank’s most ambitious internal platforms.
At ING, we’re transforming the way infrastructure and data work together to power a smarter, faster, more data‑driven bank. InfraPort, serving as the data broker for our infrastructure landscape, is already the central nervous system of our cloud platforms — delivering critical insights across the bank.
Now, we’re taking the next step: building a Data Management Tool from the ground up.
This new tool will automate ETL processes, strengthen governance, and unlock advanced capabilities such as LLM‑powered data handling.
You’ll be part of a small, highly skilled, international team (Netherlands, Poland, Romania) where your work will have a visible impact from day one.
As a Front‑End Engineering Intern, you will help design, build, and refine the user-facing components of our DMS platform. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and product management, gaining hands-on experience in delivering a real-world production application.
As a Front‑End Engineering Intern, you will:
Build user interfaces using modern JavaScript or TypeScript, utilising React/Next.js and CSS (and related tooling).
Implement reusable components and front-end functionalities that support scalability and maintainability.
Work with APIs and help connect front-end features to backend services.
Collaborate with UX, product, and data teams to deliver intuitive, robust user flows.
Contribute to code reviews and learn best practices in performance, accessibility, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you stay curious, keep learning, and take ownership. And in return, we’ll support your growth every step of the way.
You’ll do well in this role if you bring:
Strong bacnground in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Experience or familiarity with TypeScript, React, or Next.js (coursework or personal projects count!).
Eagerness to build things — from UI prototypes to production-ready components.
You take action, ask questions, and spot opportunities to simplify or improve.
Comfortable working with fellow engineers, analysts, and product managers.
A willingness to learn about API integration and data flows.
A growth mindset: you make use of the learning resources and budget available to you, actively exploring frameworks, tooling, and best practices to improve your craft.
Above all: you're enthusiastic, hands-on, and eager to grow your engineering skills.
This internship offers the chance to learn from experienced engineers building a real product at scale — a unique opportunity to strengthen your coding, architectural, and teamwork skills.
You’ll also benefit from:
€700 internship allowance based on a 36‑hour workweek.
Your own work laptop.
Hybrid working — focus from home, collaborate at the office.
Endless learning opportunities and exposure to modern tech.
A supportive, informal, people‑first culture.
Fun, innovative colleagues excited to help you grow.
To apply, you must be enrolled at a Dutch university (or an EU university for EU passport holders).
