Front End Engineer

Job Description

The Rancher Container UI/UX engineering team is looking for a talented UI Engineer to work on SUSE Rancher open-source projects based on Kubernetes and Cloud-Native technologies.

The primary project you will be working on is the Kubewarden project (https://www.kubewarden.io) – a universal policy engine for Kubernetes. This project forms part of the SUSE Security product suite and you’ll get to contribute across the board on open-source software spanning Kubewarden, SUSE Secuirty and Rancher.

As a member of the UI/UX team, you will contribute directly to the web-based management User Interfaces for both Harvester and Longhorn. You’ll be part of the wider team in SUSE that is responsible for all of the User Interfaces and User Experience of the Rancher products.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

At least 3 years’ software engineering or equivalent experience:

·       Hands-on software development experience with Vue.js or equivalent front-end framework

·       Experience with Cloud Computing (OpenStack, AWS, or Azure) and/or Distributed Systems

·       Experience and/or interest in Agile methodologies

·       Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·       Experience of working in Linux based environments

·       Experience working on production, shipping code

·       Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships with internal teams, external partners, and candidates.

Bonus qualifications

·       Knowledge of Kubernetes

·       Experience and/or interest in Test Driven Development (TDD)

·       Experience with open source development

·       Experience working with a distributed team

·       Energetic and passionate about new technologies
