LANG is seeking a Front Office Student Assistant to work in the Languages Office. The ideal candidate should be reliable and motivated to help with day-to-day operations in a busy, fast-paced office.
Responsibilities include:
Reception duties and e-mail inquiries
Clerical duties such as filing, copying, scanning and shredding
Responsible for managing and organizing departmental virtual archives (of documents including syllabi, promo files, etc.)
Handle assignments from department chair, Assistant director of administration, and faculty
Work closely with other university offices to troubleshoot student issues
Maintain organization of office and supplies
Assist with events (i.e promotional tabling)
Run errands on campus as needed
Provide administrative support for tutoring program
Other duties as assigned
Collaborate with Communications team members in order to support department promotion (via Newsletters, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
Professional with excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently
Punctual and reliable
Tech savvy with command of Microsoft Office applications, Google Drive and social media
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate student preferred
Prior experience in an administrative position
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Design, Illustrator, InDesign, and Mail Chimp is a plus.
Work Mode: This is a hybrid position. Student will work mostly remote and come into the office on occasion to assist with certain projects or events. We ask for a commitment of at least two semesters to start Spring 2026 and continue through Spring 2027. A commitment of 20 hours per week is required. #LI-DNI
Hourly Rate: $17-$19 per hour.
