Job Description

We’re hiring a Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Marketing to lead national growth initiatives and shape the direction of our commercial and marketing strategy. In this high‑impact role, you’ll drive integrated marketing programs, guide long‑range planning, build market insights, and lead national communications and PR. You’ll partner with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sustainability, and more—while influencing major strategic decisions and bringing new solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop and manage go-to-market strategies for new and existing market segments and channels, including innovative pricing, product positioning, and promotional tactics.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify, assess, and prioritize strategic growth opportunities, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and portfolio optimization initiatives in collaboration with integrated marketing and demand generation teams.
  • Create and maintain project management tools, including charters, roadmaps, risk assessments, and scorecards to track milestones and outcomes.
  • Develop sales and industry solution guides, strategic marketing battlecards, and persona-driven resources to support decision-making and drive market engagement.
  • Conduct market research to uncover new market and channel opportunities, leveraging tools such as PowerBI and Nielsen for segmentation and reporting.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to prioritize and execute growth initiatives, ensuring coordination and alignment across regional teams.
  • Build regional strategic marketing capabilities, supporting market leadership in key product and program areas.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Marketing is responsible for leading the development, execution, and measurement of a national commercial and integrated marketing strategy. This role drives growth by leading market planning, commercial initiatives, strategic marketing programs, communications, and customer insights. The position works cross‑functionally with senior leaders and teams across sales, operations, marketing, sustainability, and customer experience to ensure strong alignment and successful delivery of strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and refresh the national commercial strategy, including customer segmentation, product and service positioning, and market opportunities.
  • Lead long‑range commercial planning through market analysis, scenario planning, and competitive assessment.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in new markets, channels, and customer segments.

Marketing & Communications Leadership

  • Lead integrated marketing programs that support national commercial priorities.
  • Build and manage the commercialization roadmap for products and value‑added services.
  • Oversee national communications, public relations, media engagement, and executive messaging.
  • Support participation in industry events, conferences, and thought‑leadership initiatives.

Customer Insights & Market Intelligence

  • Develop insights to shape strategy using customer feedback, market trends, competitive intelligence, and analytics.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed insights into commercial and go‑to‑market strategies.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sustainability, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to drive commercial alignment.
  • Collaborate with regional and global partners on shared initiatives and new solution launches.

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead strategic projects and govern key commercial initiatives, ensuring clear milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide leadership in communications, storytelling, and change management.
  • Manage agency partners and support internal stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Strategy, Economics, or a related field
  • 7+ years in commercial strategy, marketing strategy, business planning, or commercialization
  • Experience leading national marketing or commercial programs with measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience developing value propositions and insights‑driven strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal)

Preferred

  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, or e‑commerce
  • Graphic design or content creation exposure (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools)

Marketing et communications

  • Diriger les programmes de marketing intégrés qui appuient les priorités commerciales nationales.
  • Gérer la feuille de route de commercialisation des produits et services.
  • Superviser les communications nationales, les relations publiques, les messages médiatiques et les communications exécutives.
  • Appuyer la participation aux événements, conférences et activités de leadership éclairé.

Renseignements clients et intelligence de marché

  • Développer des insights basés sur les tendances du marché, la rétroaction des clients et l’intelligence concurrentielle.

Qualifications

Essentielles

  • Baccalauréat en affaires, marketing, stratégie, économie ou domaine connexe
  • 7+ années en stratégie commerciale, stratégie marketing ou planification commerciale
  • Expérience en direction de programmes marketing ou commerciaux nationaux
  • Excellentes compétences analytiques et communicationnelles
  • Expérience dans le développement de propositions de valeur et stratégies guidées par les insights

Base pay range is $140,000 - $190,000 CAD annually 

  

Salary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
