Freelance Social Media Manager - Bonn

Mission / Purpose

Support and strengthen the digital presence of the client by creating and managing regionally relevant social media content, contributing to content planning, and identifying collaboration opportunities with content creators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content for social media channels, including copywriting and basic visuals or video editing, or coordinating these assets with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor social media platforms and relevant regional discussions to identify opportunities for content creation and engagement.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings (as required) and contribute to the thematic planning of social media content and campaigns.
  • Identify and propose potential collaborations with content creators, including formats, opportunities, and potential partners.
  • Provide advice on communication opportunities to increase the reach and impact of regional social media content.

Deliverables / Outputs (examples)

  • Social media content packages (copy and assets), publishing recommendations, monitoring highlights, and notes on collaboration opportunities.

Work Setup

  • Total of 45 working days.
  • Approximately 10 days per year on-site in the Bonn region; remainder to be delivered remotely.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Native or mother-tongue level German for regional communication.
  • Strong professional English (minimum C1 level).
  • Hands-on experience in social media content creation and monitoring, ideally within public sector or institutional communication environments.
