THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, commercially minded Freelance HR Business Partner to join our People Team and lead a blend of strategic business partnering responsibilities and high-impact HR operations.

As a trusted partner to department leaders across the agency, you’ll provide expert guidance on employee relations, restructures, people programs (performance reviews, salary reviews etc.), while also ensuring core HR processes run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic HR partner to department leads, advising on organisational planning, team development, and workforce strategy.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, providing expert, solutions-focused guidance to leaders while ensuring fair and compliant processes.
  • Work with People Director to deliver annual HR cycles including salary reviews, talent mapping, and performance review processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and market benchmarks.
  • Support business leaders through any department level changes (role changes, redundancies, succession planning)

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a HR Business Partner or HR Manager role or at a similar level.
  • Strong track record managing complex ER cases with professionalism and sensitivity including redundancies and managing settlement agreements.
  • Expertise in leading annual HR cycles, including performance management and reward.
  • Excellent excel, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and best practice HR processes.
